ObamaCare’s Failure Is Trump’s Fault?

3 13

The Political Editors at ‘The Patriot Post’ are right:

  • It’s a pure lie.
  • Trump caved to liberals on the omnibus bill and cut nothing.
  • Some Republicans want a total repeal of the law, others don’t out of fear of voters.
  • The Don is not looking for a total repeal, as he initially promised, hampering Republican efforts in Congress.

What I find particularly interesting in the piece is that Jonathan “The Grub” Gruber says that Trump comes onto the White House and “…doesn’t honor the obligations this law makes to insurers… “Remember what that ‘obligation’ is folks?  If the insurers aren’t making enough profit, Obama’s law promised them subsidies to make up the difference of their losses.  Yep, we’ve been paying them tax dollars for work not performed!

And it’s true that The Don is still doing it because it was not removed from the omnibus bill.

The federal government needs to get out of the medical business and return this part of their non-mandated business back to the states.  Let THEM take care of their citizens.  Repeal Obamacare entirely…No ‘Replace”!

In an interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallace on Sunday, Jonathan Gruber, one of the primary architects of ObamaCare, was questioned as to who was at fault for the law’s failure. Gruber responded, “Before President Trump was elected there were no counties in America that did not have an insurer. … Then you have a president who comes in, undercuts open enrollment, doesn’t honor the obligations this law makes to insurers and as a result premiums are going up and insurers are exiting.” In other words, ObamaCare is failing because of Donald Trump. What a conveniently deceitful excuse. The reality is that insurance companies have been swallowing losses for years, prompting many to leave the government exchanges well before Trump even became a candidate for president. And while Trump has talked about cutting funding to ObamaCare, to date none of those threats have been enacted. Once again, Gruber is simply peddling a lie.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama was given the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award over the weekend. In his speech he touted his and Democrat brave efforts in forcing ObamaCare onto the American public, all the while ignoring the skyrocketing costs and general wreckage to Americans’ freedom his law created. He declared, “These [Democrat] men and women did the right thing. They did the hard thing … and most of them did lose their seats.” Yes, many Democrats did lose their seats, but Republicans are proving that their “sacrifice” was worth it by their own unwillingness to potentially suffer a similar fate in repealing the disastrous law for the good of the country.

Finally, while Trump is not to blame for ObamaCare’s imminent collapse, he has hampered Republicans’ efforts at repealing and replacing the law. The fact of the matter is that Trump likes too many things about ObamaCare. His demand that the replacement law retain some of the more costly elements of the “Affordable” Care Act has only proven to deepen divisions within the Republican Party, weakening their ability to comprehensively repeal and replace. We’re discovering he and many moderates simply don’t want true repeal. Just this past weekend Trump tweeted, “Of course the Australians have better healthcare than we do — everybody does. ObamaCare is Dead! But our healthcare will soon be great.” It’s strange to offer praise of a single-payer system, which is what Republicans are trying to avoid.

So, while Democrats continue to spin the fiction of the “successes” of ObamaCare, Trump and Republicans are saddled with a disunified effort to fix the mess they were given.

    FIRST… and ONLY… Federal Welfare program … EVER…

… to not get a single GOP vote??

Who is wondering WHY it failed so miserably??

Simply… the Federal GOVT does not have authority for “specific citizen welfare”…
… THAT is why states regulated Barbers and Septic Tank Cleanouts…
… alongst with all other Clip or Shat stuff!!

My ‘annual’ PCP MD visit occurred…
… alongst with routine inoculations / specialist appointments / lab workup.

THEN… I go back two more times in 3 months for my “Velcum To Medicare MD Charade”…
… which – alongst with OTC / Home Nurse Visits / Silver Sneakers / etc….

… I predict has added about $4,000 to Medicare’s annual average cost.

I would like to be specific… BUT the previous several Commie TZARS running HHS / CMS… destroyed any ability to decipher such routine base financial data.

SO— private Medicare Advantage contracts require the vendor insurance company to provide within 15 days of end of each month their specific enrollment data…

… BUT we can’t get any thang closer than two or three years back on Medicare or Medicaid??

Kinda’ like ERISA ’74 that set the GOLD STANDARD on actuarial reporting / expensing / funding of pension plans for every one BUT the Federal GOVT which stopped funding Social Security in 1965 — LBJ’s “full faith and credit of the US GOVT”??

YEP… Seniors got their official notice of SS reduced to 74% by 2023 – insufficient ‘incoming’ to pay our ‘outgoing’… that by law we paid in ‘payroll taxes’ for 40 years as ‘self liquidating pension premiums’??

IF you ‘require’ Insurers to include “pre-existing conditions” within their actuarial ‘insurance premiums’ paid by every one …
… WHY did the GOP House add $8 BN to their healthcare expense budgets??
